Weptumka "Colors the Town Pink" for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

WETUMPKA, AL (WSFA) -

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the city of Weptumka is supporting it in full strides with their campaign Color the Town Pink.

During the entire month of October many business in the Weptumka area will be hosting FREE promotions and several events. River Region Family Medicine is providing free breast exams. Elmore Community Hospital will host a free mammogram clinic by appointment only from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the 23rd.

"Ladies Night Out", being held at the Weptumka Civic Center on October 8th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Food, fun and a fashion show will be held along with a silent auction. All proceeds benefit the Life Foundation and the Women of Hope. Followed by a pink walk on Friday at noon from the civic center to the river.

The city of Weptumka ask all local businesses to place pink ribbons on their doors during October.
