Editorial: A big congrats for football teams

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

Congratulations to Alabama on a 25th SEC title and another trip to the College Football playoffs! It seems like the excitement might be diminished after all these titles but Alabama fans will tell you different.

All-in-all it was a pretty good year for college football in the region. The college programs in the viewing area went 43-27, including solid playoff runs by both Huntingdon and Tuskegee.

Auburn had a tough season but played better down the stretch. That included being less than a touchdown behind in the 4th quarter of the Iron Bowl against what most will say is the best team in the country.

ASU had a winning season and hopes are high that they will be competing for a conference crown next year.

Coach Brown had a good season to build on at Troy and finished with a convincing conference win.

I have really enjoyed my first college football season in Alabama, and it was even more than advertised. The passion for college football is unlike anywhere I have ever been and I have lived in some pretty strong college towns.

Congratulations to all the players and coaches on a very entertaining season, and for Auburn and especially Alabama there is still a little unfinished business.

Good Luck!
