Editorial: Be Safe and Good Luck

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

Most of the country is finishing up the holiday season as New Year’s Eve is just a few days away. But not in Alabama. We are just getting started. Now that the preliminary events are over it’s time to get serious.

For many of you there are no New Year’s Eve plans at all. Your plan is to either with family, friends or by yourself in a locked room sit down and watch the Tide Roll. I have to admit I am pretty excited about the game as well.

You see New Year’s Eve is probably my least favorite holiday each year. Unfortunately it is my wife’s favorite. She loves to get dressed up, go out, dance, sing, and go crazy at midnight. I am a good husband and love my wife so I do my best to keep up.

This year I have the perfect answer for her. We will invite friends over for a great NYE party complete with food noise makers’ confetti and champagne. The only catch is they are all Alabama fans so the entire evening will center in some way around the game and me on the couch.

No matter what your plans are please be responsible with your drinking and please think to designate a driver if you are going out.

I hope you have a great New Year’s Eve and I hope your team wins.
