Family member speaks out after 16-year-old beaten to death - WSFA.com Montgomery Alabama news.

Police say additional charges are now pending in the death of 16-year-old Hailey Hall.

Hall's family said she was brutally beaten by 34-year-old William Lamar Arnold. Hall died from her injuries on Monday, Cincinnati Police confirm.

"She was really sweet, outgoing and smart," a family member of Hall who asked to stay anonymous said. "She had the best personality and she always made everyone laugh and smile."

Arnold is currently at the Hamilton County jail on a million dollar bond for drug charges.

He used his “personal body” and “possible unknown objects” to “cause serious physical harm” to the girl in the 4300 block of Kellogg Ave., according to the complaint filed by Cincinnati Police at the time of the arrest.  

"How could you do this?" The family member said. "How could you beat a girl where she can't breathe on her own." 

In the paperwork, police said Arnold admitted to his participation.

Police said Hall taken to Mercy Health West Hospital with her liver lacerated, her lungs collapsed and lacerated, she had internal bleeding and she had bruises and cuts all over her body.

Additional charges are pending an investigation by the Cincinnati Police Department’s Homicide Unit, Hamilton County Coroner’s Office, and the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office, according to a news release on Monday. 

"I feel like he should be charged with murder," the family member said. "(Arnold) should have been charged with attempted murder in the first place because of what he did."
