Montgomery bicycle club getting kids involved in bike month

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - May is National Bike Month and the Montgomery Bicycle Club wants to get kids involved.

The club welcomed students from the all male Valiant Cross Academy on Monday. They're hoping to show these young men another way to stay health and active by learning safe biking skills.
"We just wanted to get every kid on a bike today," said Deana Acklin with the Montgomery Bicycle Club. "We wanted to teach them the proper rules of riding the road and to be able to practice those skills in a life-like setting with obstacles around them."
Valiant Cross is in its first year with sixth grade boys. It will consider using this bike curriculum in the school.
