MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

This week the legislature gets back to town to try and at least come up with a short-term fix for our immediate budget woes. With that in mind I thought I would share some responses from an editorial last week that talked about the failure to make any progress on a long-term budget solution.

Vivian was pretty direct with her displeasure: To the Alabama State Legislature, quit wasting your time and the taxpayer’s money by not accomplishing anything. That is called stealing the state tax dollars. You don't deserve to be paid one penny.

Mike sees a bigger picture: A direct result of the ignorance of the voters in Alabama and the people they have elected to run the government. The problem is however not the legislators; the problem is the ignorant people of Alabama who put them there. They let Alabama Power charge its' customers more than any other state and let them pay the lowest property tax in the country. People are dying every day on Alabama Highways and yet the voters refuse to take responsibility for paying to put more officers on the road.

Diane says she will do her part to help make change: They ALL need to go!!! I will be voting EVERY incumbent OUT come election time.

Thank you all for the comments. Hopefully, legislators are listening to their constituents and see that short-term fixes are not the answer. Email your representative today and let them know how you feel.
