Auburn gearing up for the Hogs

AUBURN, AL (WSFA) -

It's Arkansas week. Gus Malzahn says the message for his team moving forward is very simple: continue to get better.

The Hogs offense is no laughing matter. It's led by quarterback Austin Allen. Not only is he leading the SEC in both touchdown passes and passing yards, he's also the only quarterback in the nation with multiple touchdown passes in seven games this season.

"Listen, I've been real impressed with the guy this year. He's making some really big plays. He's showing a lot of toughness. He's been very impressive," Malzahn said.

"My opinion I think he's a great quarterback. They have offensive weapons so I think it'll be a good test for our defense. You just never know what they're going to bring to the table," said Auburn defensive lineman Montravius Adams.

The Razorbacks do like the element of surprise, such as a quadruple overtime win over Auburn last season, which no one really likes to remember.

"I mean when you think about it, it still makes me mad, but that's last year. That's history nothing you can do about it," Malzahn said.

It was that quadruple overtime loss to the Razorbacks last season that Malzahn says matured Sean White as a quarterback, and now every weekend he's seeing improvement from his starter.

"We were still learning about Sean at the time and we learned a lot about him that day. The way he handled pressure. He's a year older now. Been through a lot more situations and he's in a really good spot right now," Malzahn said.

Auburn is looking to make it three wins out of the last four meetings at Jordan-Hare Stadium 5 p.m. on Saturday.
