Wetumpka woman dies in Coosa County crash

COOSA CO., AL (WSFA) -

 A two-vehicle crash has claimed the life of a Wetumpka woman and injured another.

State Trooper Reginal King says Gloria Grier Allen, 66, was seriously injured when the 2002 Toyota Sequoia which she was a passenger in collided with a 2007 Freightliner tractor trailer. Allen was transported to UAB hospital where she died a short time later.

The Sequoia's driver, Sharon Marie Allen, 39, also of Wetumpka was transported to an area hospital for treatment. The Freightliner's driver was not injured.

The crash happened around 8:01 p.m. on Alabama 115, three miles west of Kellyton.
