MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

Have you ever wanted to rappel off a multi-story building? Now you can check it off your bucket list.

For the first time here in Montgomery, thrill seekers can rappel, safely and legally, while also helping others.

It's called "Over the Edge" and it's a fundraiser for Hope Inspired Ministries, an organization which offers a job training program to equip people to get a job and keep it.

"Hope Inspired Ministries has helped me to take on responsibilities. They've given me good work ethic skills and positive learning skills, and how to deal with life on a day to day basis," said Rebecca Williams, a receptionist at HIM.

Williams not only works for the organization, but is also a graduate of the program. She believes without this non-profit, she would be in a much difference place.

You can help people, like Williams, get the much needed training, both life skills and employment skills, in order to find hope and purpose for their lives.

You can have fun while doing so by rappelling over the edge of the 40 Four building in downtown Montgomery.

"People raise money to go over the edge of the side of the building. We just wanted to bring something different that people could have fun and enjoy and really mark off maybe a bucket list item," said HIM Marketing Director Elizabeth Richards.

Organizers say it's a first for the capital city, allowing people to rappel down the building. The event is more than just a fundraiser, the plan is to make a block party out of it, complete with food, drinks, and music.

"We want this to be a great fundraiser, not only for us, and to bring awareness to Hope Inspired Ministries but also to bring a fun event to downtown Montgomery," claims Richards.

It cost $1,000 to rappel and the event is April 1. You still have plenty of time to raise the funds, so you can go 'over the edge.'
