MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - This will be my last editorial at WSFA. Hold the applause please.
Raycom has given me the opportunity to get back closer to home and my family in central Texas. I am very thankful for the wonderful company that I work for that is headquartered right here in Montgomery.
I can't begin to thank all the people in Montgomery who went out of their way to make an outsider feel at home. We were welcomed at every turn and we will never forget that. In only a year and a half we have made lifelong friends, friends who we would count on with our lives and our children's lives. But it is the South, and that is what you do.
WSFA is a station with a responsibility to a community like no other. The men and women who make their way to 12 East Delano every day are the best in the business, and they do it all because they understand what WSFA means to the River Region and what it will always mean. They are the ones who bring you the news. Period.
As I said Montgomery is home to Raycom, and therefore will be a place that I will be fortunate to visit often. I can't wait to see the continued revitalization downtown and find out what a Cyber City really does.
So instead of Good Bye I will say thank you for the hospitality and see you next time.
