MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

WSFA 12 News, the Alabama Department of Labor and the city of Montgomery are hosting the second Montgomery Regional Job Fair. It's set for today at Cramton Bowl Multiplex from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

At least 123 employers will be hiring for more than 1,800 positions. As of Tuesday, more than 800 people have already pre-registered and that number is expected to grow to at least 1000.

“It’s important to us because one of our main missions is to match employers with job seekers. This [job fair] is one of the best ways for us to do that," said Tara Hutchison with the Alabama Department of Labor. "Obviously, we do that at our career centers, across the state, on a daily basis but when we host these regional job fairs, we’re about to bring in a large number of job seekers with a large number of employers to hopefully find that perfect match.”

To save some time, you can pre-register online at https://labor.alabama.gov/jobfair/ It takes about two minutes. You will get an email confirmation. Print it out or just show your phone with it at the door the day of the job fair.  You can also register once you get to the job fair.

Organizers say it's very likely interviews will be held on site and possibly jobs offered that day.

Experts say if you plan to attend: dress for success, make sure your resume is up-to-date, and correct, and have references on hand.

"Be energetic and interested, let them know you are interested in what their company does and what kind of jobs they have," advises Manager of the Montgomery Career Center, Carole Dean. "Be persistent, too. If you do apply, or they tell you fill this out, maybe see if you can follow up on that next week. Keep a record of who you apply with and what position you applied for and then follow up with that later on."
