FANTASTIC FRIDAY: Other than some thick fog in parts of south Alabama, today's weather will be tremendous. We expect plenty of sunshine, highs in the mid 70s and still no rain. Tonight will be cool, but not cold, with lows dropping into the lower 40s.
SLIGHTLY COOLER WEEKEND: Saturday and Sunday will feature more sunshine and dry weather. It will also be slightly cooler; highs both days will top out in the upper 60s to lower 70s. Saturday night will be chilly; we expect temperatures to drop into the 33-38° range by sunrise Sunday morning.
IRON BOWL WEATHER: Alabama hosts Auburn in Tuscaloosa at 2:30 Saturday; temperatures will be in the lower 60s at kickoff, dropping into the upper 50s by the final whistle. A light jacket is a good idea. No rain, not much wind, no major weather issues.
RAIN LIKELY NEXT WEEK: A slow-moving cold front will bring our best chance of substantial, widespread rain since September. A couple of showers are possible Monday, but many stay dry. The majority of the rain will fall late Tuesday, Tuesday night and into Wednesday. There is still plenty of time for it to change, but the potential exists for 1-2" of rain with this system. The severe weather risk seems limited by low instability, but that too could change. We'll keep watching new data and adjust the forecast as needed...
