Christmas Lights Festival starts at the Montgomery Zoo

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

The Christmas Lights Festival is underway at the Montgomery Zoo and Mann Wildlife Learning Museum.

This year marks the 25th year that the Montgomery Zoo has held the event.

Friday and Saturday, guests will be able to bring two non-perishable food items each and receive a ticket for either one free train ride or one free skylift ride. For every two food items, one ticket will be given. The donated food items will go to the Montgomery Food Bank, which supports 35 of Alabama's 67 counties. 

The dates of the festival are Dec.1-4, 8-11 and 15-31 beginning at 5:30 p.m. with the last admission at 9 p.m. All guest must leave the zoo by 9:30 p.m.

Regular admission into the festival for guests ages three and older is $15. This fee covers entry into the Christmas Lights Festival and one train ride. Members of the zoo will receive free admission into the festival. A train ticket can be purchased for $3 for members without a train pass.

No animals will be on display during the Christmas Lights Festival.

Despite a sentence of 40 years to life, the Arizona Board of Executive Clemency voted to release him from prison into home arrest. Family members of the victims are concerned for the safety of the community, as are new members of the Clemency Board. CBS 5 Investigates videotaped Huff riding a bike through his Tucson neighborhood. There are no restrictions placed on his proximity to children.
