PRATTVILLE, AL (WSFA) -

An interim principal has been named for Prattville High School, Autauga County Schools Superintendent Spence Agee announced Monday.

According to Superintendent Agee, Mr. Brock Dunn, the current Autauga County Technology Center Principal, will serve as PHS interim principal. Mrs. Cindy Epperson, the current ACTC Assistant Principal, will serve as the ACTC interim principal.

"On November 17th, the Board of Education approved a plan of action to serve the best interest of our students at Prattville High School until a new principal is hired," Agee said. "Personnel arrangements have been made to ensure that PHS, as well as the ACTC, continue to operate smoothly."

Richard Dennis, the former principal for PHS was elected to serve the position of superintendent-elect in Elmore County. Dennis will officially begin his new role on January 3rd.

"Please join me in wishing him the very best with this new opportunity. He has done a great job and will surely be missed!" Superintendent Agee said.

Agee says the search for a permanent replacement will begin early next year and that Dunn has indicated he is not interested in becoming the permanent principal at Prattville High School.

"What we're looking at doing is advertising after the first of the year and go ahead and go through the process and select the best person for the job, hopefully in the April-March time frame, and have them set and ready to take over on the first of June," said Agee.
