MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

A number of events are happening Thursday, April 6 at Riverwalk Stadium, the Montgomery Biscuits announced Friday.

According to a Biscuits press release, for the team's 14th Opening Night at Riverwalk Stadium, fans will be able to experience the United States Air Force Thunderbirds pilots and crew. The Thunderbirds and Patrouille de France, the French Air Force aerobatic team, will be in attendance for a pre-game ceremony on the field. AN autograph session will take place on the concourse.

The Air Force teams will also be in Montgomery for the Maxwell Air Show and Open House at Maxwell Air Force Base from April 8-9.

The Air Show will celebrate the 70th anniversary of the United States Air Force and mark the first time the French Air Force has been on American soil in over 30 years.

The Biscuits' Opening Night marks the 100th anniversary of the start of World War I, when both French and American troops were shipped out of Montgomery's train depots en route to European deployments.

Opening night will see the return of "Thirsty Thursday," with $2 food and beverage specials all night. The Biscuits will unveil new food items, such as a 'BBQ Sunday' from 'Hickory's BBQ,' a new 'Chicken Philly' sandwich, a Pimento Cheese Burger and more. Several prices on concession stand items will be lowered.

A local jazz band, 'The Lo-Fi Loungers,' will perform for fans as they enter the stadium and play a post-game concert at the Club Car Bar as 'Thirsty Thursday' festivities continue.

The Biscuits will play the Biloxi Shuckers. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m., with pre-game festivities beginning at 6:00 p.m.

The Biscuits are coming back from back-to-back playoff appearances and are expected to have a number of Tampa Bay Rays prospects on the Opening Day Roster, which will be announced closer to April 1.  Fans can learn more about the roster at the Biscuits annual "Meet the Team" event, scheduled for Tuesday, April 4 at Riverwalk Stadium at 6:00 p.m.
