For 17 former Auburn Tigers, Auburn's Pro Day was their chance to show what they are made of.

"I'm back to myself. A new era. A new beginning," said quarterback Jeremy Johnson. "I'm just looking forward to seeing what's next in my life."

Scouts from almost every team were out on the Plains seeing which Tigers will be the next stars of the NFL.

"I'm a guy that can consistently win one-on-ones on the edge," said defensive lineman Carl Lawson. "I definitely feel like I'm a first round talent."

Most of the players who participated are just looking for their one shot.

"I think a lot of teams have a lot of interest in me," said defensive back Joshua Holsey. "We'll see how it goes down the road."

"With this deal, it's all about catching one eye and I feel like I caught a couple of eyes," said Johnson.

Others are trying to improve on their already high draft stock such as Lawson.

After putting up some solid numbers at the NFL combine in Indianapolis, Lawson sat out a majority of the early drills here, but he made an immediate impact when he jumped in with the rest of the defensive lineman.

"I feel like I checked off a lot of boxes," said Lawson. "I was number one in two drills. I ran a pretty good 40. Certain teams had different times on me, but the most important thing for me was making sure they knew I had a very fast 10-yard split."

"I think Carl can be drafted high," said head coach Gus Malzahn. "He's earned that. He's one of the best players in our league. Just very talented, a great person, great motor, and great family. He's got everything you look for."

There's still a little more than a month until the NFL draft in April but many of these Tigers may have secured a spot at the next level.
