WACO, TX (KXXV) -

Waco Police is responding to a heckler who called out the department for an officer on his phone.

The heckler tweeted "@WacoPolice I hope you guys have good benefits this looks like a rough job" and attached a picture of what appeared to be an officer on his phone during a festival in Waco Saturday.

The department tweeted back "Bet you weren't mugged while you were here! You're welcome!"

On the department's Facebook page,  Waco PD stated that the City of Waco was a great organization to work for. The post then discussed the qualifications of being an officer for those interested in applying, which included a rigorous background check, driving records check, psychological testing, drug screenings, and more.

Waco PD also stated that the officer pictured was working on his vacation and was also the department's U.S. Marshal Task Force representative.

Waco police discussed the importance of keeping the community safe and the dangers of the job.
