AUTAUGA CO., AL (WSFA) -

Alabama State Troopers have arrested and charged a Deatsville woman after a construction worker was hit and killed by a vehicle Thursday near Prattville.

Kelly Nicole Dingler, 35, was arrested Monday and taken to the Autauga County Jail. She is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance and manslaughter.

Troopers responded to the crash on Autauga County Road 85 at C.R. 104, about four miles north of Prattville, around 2:25 p.m. The construction worker, Larue Bandy, 55, had been fatally struck by Dingler's 2003 Ford Explorer. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The crash happened where a bridge is out due to construction.

Dingler was transported to a local hospital before later being released. She's being held on a $15,000 bond.

A mug shot of the suspect was not immediately available.
