MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

It's that time of year again, baseball season! While bats are swinging all over the nation, one of the most popular baseball rivalries will be played in Montgomery on Tuesday.

The Auburn Tigers will play the Alabama Crimson Tide at the Riverwalk Stadium in Montgomery for the ninth annual Max Capital City Classic.

2009: Auburn won 8-7

2010: Auburn won 8-6

2011: Auburn won 2-1

2012: Auburn won 8-2

2013: Auburn won 6-3

2014: Alabama won 4-3

2015: Auburn won 5-3

2016: Auburn won 10-1

Auburn's win in 2016 not only set a record with 10 runs in one game but also gave the Tigers a 7-1 record in the series match-up.

The Tigers are currently 20-6 in their season and 5-1 in the SEC Conference. Alabama is currently 11-12 in their season and 1-5 in conference play.

While the teams have very different records so far, complete opposites to be exact, we all know in SEC play, records don't mean much. The true determining factor will be how each team steps up to the plate.

The game begins at 6:30 p.m. with gates opening at 5:30 p.m.
