MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

The Auburn Tigers continued their domination of rival Alabama Tuesday night on the diamond with another win in the Max Capital City Classic.

In the nine years the Iron Bowl of Baseball has been played at Montgomery's Riverwalk Stadium, only a single loss from 2014 has sullied Auburn's perfect streak.

Tuesday night, Josh Anthony singled home the winning run in the 6th inning with the score tied 3-3. Auburn's defense came up big in the late innings including a diving save and throw out by MVP Jay Estes in the eighth inning to hold the Tide without a run.

Auburn would set Alabama down in order in the ninth to pick up its 21st win on the season.

Alabama (12-13) fell behind 3-0 early, but Cobie Vance singled home a run in the third followed by sac-fly's in both the fourth and fifth inning by Chandler Taylor and Cody Henry to tie the game at three before the Auburn bullpen shut down the Tide.

The Tigers, winners of 11 of their last 12, turn their attention now to a weekend series with South Carolina while the Tide will now get ready for a series with Arkansas.

2009: Auburn won 8-7; 2010: Auburn won 8-6; 2011: Auburn won 2-1; 2012: Auburn won 8-2; 2013: Auburn won 6-3, 2014: Alabama won 4-3, 2015: Auburn won 5-3; 2016: Auburn won 10-1; 2017: Auburn won 4-3.

The Tigers are now 21-6 in their season and 6-1 in the SEC Conference. Alabama is currently 11-13 in their season and 1-6 in conference play.

The match-up brought 7,605 people out to downtown's baseball stadium. According to the Montgomery Biscuits, that's the largest crowd to ever attend a game at the stadium.
