MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

Alabama Auditor Jim Zeigler is wasting no time setting schedules to audit state properties being vacated by ex-Governor Robert Bentley after his resignation Monday.

Bentley is expected to have his personal belongings out of the Governor's office at the Capitol, the official state residence on South Perry Street, and a third residence, a beach mansion, located in Fort Morgan.

Zeigler has slated two days, April 17-18, to perform audits at the Governor's Mansion. He and his staff will spend April 19 rectifying property in the Governor's office at the Capitol with the state database of property. The beach mansion will be audited on April 25.

The auditor said he expects the former governor to have his property vacated from each location ahead of the scheduled audits.

Zeigler, long a vocal critic of Bentley, especially on funds spent to restore the beach mansion, said he did not want to have a situation "like Bill and Hillary Clinton had when they left the White House," referring to allegations for nation's former first couple took federal property that was not theirs.

Zeigler said he will also locate "Wanda's desk", referring to the now famous secretary's desk Bentley mentioned moving away from his office door in recorded conversations with Rebekah Mason, a top aide with whom he's accused of having an affair.

The auditor said he wants to "reconstruct what happened to it".

Determining the location of the desk, which is state property, would fall under Zeigler's authority.
