MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

Alabama State Tennis has done some spectacular things recently. The ride home from the SWAC Tournament this season was a little different.

There were several shiny trophies scattered through out the bus as both the men and women took the sweep in New Orleans to get SWAC Conference titles.

"Last year we came really close so this year to win both is fantastic. We hadn't won one on the girls side since 1999 so I was really excited for both of the programs," said head coach Anuk Christiansz.

This is the first time since 2006 the same SWAC school has swept in titles. It's the third title for the women and the second in three years for the men.

Next up the two squads await their fate for nationals. The NCAA Tennis selection show is set for May 2.
