Here's what we're covering this morning during the 6 a.m. hour of Today in Alabama:

FREE SHREDDING: A free event to help protect you from identity theft. The City of Montgomery, MAX Federal Credit Union, and AARP of Alabama are teaming up to offer free shredding of your personal documents.

WSFA 12 News reporter Bethany Davis is at Garrett Coliseum where we'll learn a little more about why it's so important to shred your documents, instead of just throwing them away and we'll go over everything you need to know about how to be a part of today's event.

WEATHER:  Coming up on Today in Alabama, Amanda has the latest details on today's forecast.

WANTED: CrimeStoppers are looking for a man they say is wanted on robbery and attempted sodomy charges. The victim says the suspect also held a knife to her throat. Coming up at 6:15 a.m. we have details on the suspect including his picture.

TN AMBER ALERT: After five weeks on the run, a former Tennessee teacher who allegedly kidnapped and fled with his 15-year-old student was arrested Thursday. As Melisa Raney reports, Elizabeth Thomas' family is overjoyed she is safe. Hear what they had to say coming up at 6:30 a.m.

ARKANSAS EXECUTION: Arkansas has executed its first inmate since 2005. It didn't happen without several protests and legal hurdles, but the state put Ledell Lee to death overnight. Coming up at 6:30 a.m. we have reaction from witnesses and what's next.
