TUSCALOOSA, AL (WBRC) -

Triathletes using Jack Warner Parkway pose one of the biggest hurdles to football fans coming campus for Alabama's Spring football game.

"The fans are going to have to take alternate routes coming from east to west," Nick Frenz with UA Transportation Services said.

Jack Warner Parkway from the Amphitheater in downtown Tuscaloosa to Crescent Ridge Road in Alberta will be closed due to the triathlon.
"Coming off McFarland Campus Drive East is probably going to be your best bet to come into campus. But if you utilize University just be patient," Frenz explained.

University Boulevard is also undergoing a major beautification project. That could make the amount of traffic backed up on campus downright ugly.

"So, we've lost two lanes on it. So, we're down to one lane in each direction. So, we really want fans to keep that in mind," Frenz went on to say.

He's preaching patience to fans because University staff expects at least 80,000 people if not more in Bryant-Denny Stadium Saturday.

They suggest fans factor in an additional 20 to 30 minutes coming to and leaving campus.
