MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

A woman who spent 25 years incarcerated will now graduate with honors thanks to a second chance from a Montgomery ministry.

On Saturday, Angelicia Willis will graduate from the Hope Inspired Ministries program (HIM). Willis’ story is one of hope in the midst of overwhelming darkness.

Willis was found guilty of not calling the police after knowing her boyfriend robbed and committed a murder. Willis was 15-years-old at the time.

HIM specializes in giving people a chance to turn their lives around after making bad choices. Officials say the change must begin with them and that is just what Willis’ did.

Willis plea bargained to a 25-year term and now says prison made her the woman she is today; stronger, wiser and forgiven.
