Montgomery commission to hold cleanup activities

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - The Montgomery Clean City Commission is inviting everyone to join in cleanup activities Sunday.

The event, organized locally by MCCC, is part of the nation's largest cleanup, beautification and community improvement program. It will last from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the North Pass and Boylston neighborhoods.

MCCC will be working with over 70 volunteers from Atlanta's World Mission Society Church of God, along with volunteers from Montgomery First Seventh-day Adventist Church. The groups seek to improve the look and safety of the neighborhoods.

"Collectively we are all participating in this event in an effort to spread the fragrance of Christ all over the world" said Alex Lee, Church Overseer for the WMSCOG. "In every effort to keep the greatest commandment given by Christ, to 'love thy neighbor,' The World Mission Society Church of God would like to show love and appreciation to the City of Montgomery."

District 3 City Councilman Tracy Larkin and Marco's Pizza are sponsors for this event.
