Blue Cross Blue Shield warns customers of telephone scam

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama is urging customers to be aware of a telephone spoofing scam that is targeting people across the country.

According to the insurance company, the scammers are pretending to be BCBS employees in an attempt to get your personal information.

BCBS says it will never call you to verify or update your personal information and warns against answering calls from 1-518-381-2264.  

The company is encouraging people to protect their personal information.
