Former Russell County HS employee out on bond after 'engaging in sex act with a student'

RUSSELL COUNTY, AL (WTVM) – A former Russell County school employee who was arrested for allegedly engaging in a sex act with a student is now out of jail on bond.

On May 5, Jeremy Bumgardner, a former Russell County High School employee, was arrested for engaging in a sex act with a student and transmitting obscene material to a child, according to the RCSO investigation’s division Facebook page.

Bumgardner was working at the high school in 2016 when the incident happened. 

Bumgardner made a $15,000 bond for engaging in a sex act with a student and $5,000 for transmitting obscene materials to a child.
