Mother facing misdemeanor charges after leaving child in hot car

DOTHAN, AL (WSFA) - A mother in Dothan faces charges for allegedly leaving her infant in a hot car, according to Dothan Police.

Kristen Maranda Betts has been charged with leaving a child unattended in a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor.

According to Dothan police, the child was left in a vehicle at Wiregrass Commons Mall on July 12.

Police say the vehicle was running and the was air on.

The child is okay, according to police.
