KY woman dies, 2 others injured in Covington County crash

COVINGTON COUNTY, AL (WSFA) -

A two-vehicle crash has claimed the life of a Kentucky woman and injured two others.

According to Alabama Law Enforcement Officials, Karen Sue Ritchie, 46, was critically injured when the 2015 Toyota Tundra she was a passenger in was struck head on by a 2005 Nissan Altima. Karen Ritchie was pronounced dead on Sunday after being transported to a hospital for treatment in Florida.

Kevin Ritchie, the driver of the Tundra, along with the driver of the Altima, William Antonie Edwards, 21 of Opp, were both transported to area hospitals for treatment of their injuries, according to ALEA.

The crash happened on U.S. 331 at the 18.40-mile marker, three miles south of Opp. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
