MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

One person is in custody after officials say someone drove a vehicle through a security gate at the Montgomery Regional Airport.

Jeremiah Gerald with the airport says that at about 6:10 p.m., a person drove their vehicle through a closed gate to a secured area of the property. Airport PD and the Montgomery Police Department responded immediately, and Homeland Security and the FBI were notified and responded.

The person was taken into custody. The airfield was thoroughly inspected after the incident. The gate was reattached and has a piece of equipment in front of it to secure.

The airport reopened at approximately 6:50.

There was no impact on commercial air service.
