MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

The Montgomery Police Department is investigating after someone spray-painted graffiti on and inside a bathroom building near the Auburn Montgomery Baseball and Softball Complex.

The graffiti was first discovered and reported by the AUM Softball team on their Facebook page.

According to Montgomery Department of Public Safety spokeswoman Martha Earnhardt, the facility is owned by the city, not AUM. It's part of Dixie Youth Softball that that city sponsors through the Parks and Recreation Department where AUM youth softball players play recreational games during spring and summer.

Earnhardt said the source of the vandalism appears to be a local tagger, but no suspect has been identified at this point. She said a criminal mischief report is being completed by police officers.

In its post, the AUM softball team said it had been told by the city that a crew would paint over the graffiti on Thursday.
