CONECUH CO., AL (WSFA) -

An early morning traffic stop in the Conecuh County community of Lenox ended with a woman being arrested, but not before she gave officers an odd excuse for why crystal meth had fallen from her pants, according to a post on the Conecuh County Sheriff's Office Facebook page.

According to authorities, Erica Brooke Gardner said the pants she was wearing were not hers. It wasn't immediately clear who else could have owned the pants.

The officer initially believed Gardner was driving while under the influence of methamphetamine but the 20-year-old buttoned up on a request to search the vehicle. That's where Conecuh County K9 officer Orion zipped into action, alerting to the odor of narcotics, according to the sheriff's office.

With Gardner now out of the vehicle, the police officer reported noticing a baggie of crystal meth that had fallen from her pants while she was standing there. That's when she provided the skinny on how she wears other people's pants.

In addition to the bag, a meth pipe was also recovered.

Gardner was arrested on a possession of controlled substance charge and booked on $2,500 bond. She remains in custody at the Conecuh County Jail.
