Five people have been arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, according to the Dothan Police Department.

Antonio McNair, 40; Anthony Harper, 23; Kathy Whiters, 51; Jabera Hudspeth, 25; and Devane Reynolds, 26, were arrested at a home in the 300 block of Blackshear Street after investigators from the Dothan Police Criminal Investigations and Vice Divisions served a search warrant.

Additional charges are pending. Bond was set at $10,000 for each suspect.

Investigators said their initial investigation stemmed from allegations of kidnapping and that the house on Blackshear Street was identified as the location of a portion of the offense.

After serving a search warrant at the house on Thursday, multiple items were recovered which authorities have determined to have been stolen in Newton.

Items recovered included a 65-quart Yeti cooler, three firearms, a compound bow and game camera. Drugs including cocaine, marijuana, and miscellaneous drug paraphernalia were also recovered.
