MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

A man has been arrested in connection to a Sunday shooting in Montgomery.

The Montgomery Police Department has charged Leroy Jones, 29, with first-degree assault. The charge is in reference to a shooting that happened around noon on Sunday in the 2900 block of Forbes Drive. Earlier reports said a man was found in 1700 block of Pine Street suffering from non-life threatening gunshot wounds.

An investigation indicated the shooting stemmed from an ongoing dispute between Jones and the victim.

Jones was taken into custody Tuesday morning by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force and then taken to the Montgomery County Detention Facility.
