FL man killed in Tuesday night crash on I-65 near Clanton

CHILTON CO., AL (WSFA) -

A Florida man has died as a result of a three-vehicle crash on Interstate 65 in Chilton County, Alabama State Troopers confirmed.

Ronnie Lee Cooper, 61, of Crestview, Florida, was killed when the 2004 Saturn he was a passenger in struck a 1999 Toyota around 10:45 p.m. Tuesday. The Saturn was then struck by a 2016 Dodge.

Cooper was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Saturn, Felicia Knight, 32, of Crestview, was injured, as were the drivers of the Toyota and Dodge.

The crash happened at the 199.5 mile marker, close to Verbena and approximately five miles south of Clanton.

An investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
