Sex offender wanted by BCSO and US Marshals

BALDWIN COUNTY, AL (WALA) -

The Baldwin County Sheriff's Office as well as the US Marshals need your help locating 51-year-old Rayford Thomas Mitchell Jr.

Officials say Mitchell is possibly in the area of southwest Alabama, southeast Mississippi or northwest Florida and could be staying in homeless shelters/camps. 

They say is wanted for a SORNA (sex offender registration and notification act)  violation in Baldwin County. Mitchell was last seen in Harrison County, Miss. where authorities say he gave false information to avoid arrest.

If you have information of his whereabouts please call Baldwin County officials at  251-937-0202 or your can contact the US Marshals at 251-213-0488.

    According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, the suspect who opened fire and the woman killed in a deadly church shooting in Antioch, Tennessee have been identified.   The victim, Melanie Smith, 39, of Smyrna was killed in the church parking lot.  The gunman was identified as 25-year-old Emanuel Kidega Samson.
