Car Plunges into Pond, Drowning Victim Identified

One person drowns and another survives after the car they're riding in plunges into a pond.

It happened in the Waters Community in Pike Road yesterday. The passenger in a black Lexus somehow made it out, and called 911.

Robert briggs, a Montgomery County Sheriff's Deputy also works security for the Waters Community and lives on the property.  He, another deputy and Pike Road Fire Department volunteers tried to save the woman trapped underwater in the car.  Despite their best efforts, they were not able to save her in time.

The victim has been identified as 61-year-old Marie Enslen from Wetumpka. The accident is still under investigation.
