Time set for kickoff in 2017 Iron Bowl

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

Alabama and Auburn. The only things standing in their way are Mercer, Louisiana-Monroe and time. And now we know what that time is.

The 82nd match-up of the Tide and Tigers will happen at 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 25. It will air nationally on CBS.

Barring major (cataclysmic) upsets by either the Bears or the Warhawks, the Tide and Tigers are on a collision course for a dual Top-10 match-up on the Plains.

Now No. 1 again in the AP polls, the Crimson Tide is aiming for yet another perfect season. A win over the now No. 6 Tigers will clinch the SEC West championship and punch their ticket to Atlanta and the SEC Championship game, again The trip would be mark Saban and the TIde's fifth-straight, and seventh in Saban's 11 years as Alabama's head coach.

The Tide had appeared all but unstoppable all season, until Saturday. Injuries have hobbled coach Nick Saban's march toward another national championship appearance, but to be clear, the Tide is still very capable of getting it done and will not be a pushover in any match-up.

Despite struggling to a win Saturday night against No. 17 Mississippi State, the first come-from-behind win this season, Saban is expected to see his team slip right back into a familiar slot at No. 1 in the College Football Playoff rankings.

Despite having two losses on the season (Clemson and LSU), the No. 6 ranked Auburn Tigers aren't going to make things easy. In fact, they could make history.

Malzahn and Co. have already dismantled one No. 1 in the Georgia Bulldogs. Saturday night's lopsided 40-17 victory leaves the Tigers hungry for another.

The Tigers can snatch the SEC West championship from the Tide's grasp with a win, then ride into Atlanta where they would face the Bulldogs again.

Beat Alabama and win the SEC Championship and coach Gus Malzahn will be the first coach in CFP history to field a 2-loss team into the semi-finals.
