Alabama/Auburn argument leads to shooting

MOBILE, AL (WALA) -

Mobile Police said a football argument led to a shooting Monday night. 

Officers responded to call from a hotel on East I-65 Service Road at 7:23 p.m. The victim told officers he was arguing with another man about which college team is better, Alabama or Auburn. 

The victim said the other man got mad, pulled out a gun and shot him in the thigh. The gunman then ran from the scene. 

No arrests have been made and MPD has not released any additional details about the suspect.

    Police and the Medina County Coroner are investigating the death of a six-month-old baby girl. According to police, officers were called out to Mellert Park on Saturday around 2:15 p.m.

    Mobile Police are investigating a shooting on the 1500 block of West Avenue. That's off of Virginia St. and Tuttle Ave, about a block from Ladd-Peebles Stadium.
