It's officially called an interpretive history museum, but everyone around here calls it the Old Depot Museum.
It has a fine collection of artifacts and memorabilia depicting life in Selma and Dallas County from the early 1800's until now. At this museum you can find the mementoes of the men and women who helped make Selma the "Queen City of the Black Belt".
And the interest in this museum isn't limited to just folks here in Alabama. The Old Depot has worldwide appeal.
"We get a lot of foreign visitors which is great," Jean Martin, museum director. "We had somebody from Switzerland yesterday, Japan, German frequently and they are all very interested. "
