TROY, AL (WSFA) - Troy's head coach Neal Brown was announced as Coach of the Year by the Sun Belt Conference on Wednesday.

He led the Sun Belt with a 32.9-yard kick return average on 24 returns with three touchdowns, ranked first in the league. Jones also intercepted two passes during the season, and he returned one for a 100-yard touchdown. He had 44 tackles and four pass breakups, finishing fifth on the team in tackles.

In addition to the individual awards, 14 Trojans were selected for the three All-Conference Teams. The Trojans ranked fourth overall in scoring offense in 2017, averaging 29.9 points per game. Troy also led the league in scoring defense, with an average of 17.5 points allowed per game.
