SEMMES, AL (WALA) -

UPDATE: The Mobile County Sheriff's Office has arrested a 29-year-old man after he allegedly shot into a home in Semmes, striking and wounding an occupant inside.

Omar Lamar Wilson was booked into the Mobile County Metro Jail just after 1 a.m. Friday, according to jail records.

At about 8 p.m. Wednesday, the Sheriff's Office was contacted about a shooting, located at 2860 Summit Drive in Semmes, the MCSO said in a news release Thursday.

According to the news release, witnesses on the scene told MCSO detectives that the homeowner, 56-year-old James Ingram, was shot by Wilson.

Several witnesses observed the shooting and told detectives Wilson became angry and upset when Ingram and other occupants inside the home locked him out and would not allow him to enter.

They said Wilson discharged multiple rounds from a handgun into the home, striking Ingram in the leg.

There were no other injuries reported, the Sheriff's Office said.

Ingram was taken to a local hospital where he is being treated.

Wilson is charged with discharging a firearm into an occupied residence and second-degree assault.
