TROY, AL (WSFA) - Senior Wide Receiver John Johnson has been a phenomenal player on the field for the Troy Trojans.
Since his freshman year in 2014, Johnson has put up 910 receiving yards with three touchdowns, but it's his work off the field that he holds close.
"You should always do for others," said Johnson. "You never know, you never know when a person on their last leg."
The Troy native spends several hours in the community, but nothing is greater to him than when he meets his biggest fan, Will. Will and his family attend every home game.
"A year and a half ago, after the App State game, was the first time I met Will," said Johnson. "He came down and gave me a hug. I didn't even know his name then. His mom found me on social media and we've had a relationship since then. I try to see him whenever I can."
John and Will's relationship has grown over the past two seasons and John knows Will can always put a smile on his face.
"If the day's not going well or I have things on my mind, I know I'm going to see Will. I know he's gonna have this big smile on his face. I know he's gonna be ready to give me a hug," said Johnson.
With one game left in his Trojan career, Johnson only wants one thing from their trip to New Orleans.
"I want to win," said Johnson.
