WSFA/NBC - If you're getting ready to travel for the holidays but haven't yet booked your flight, travel experts say there's still time to find deals. The key is avoiding peak travel days.
One of the main things to keep in mind when trying to book your flight is the sooner you book, the better!
"Book now is really the key with just being a couple weeks out from the holiday season," travel expert Jeanenne Tornatore says.
There are also a few days experts say you should avoid.
"When you look at airfare the best thing you can do now is avoid the peak travel days which are going to be Dec. 23rd and the 26th. Traveling on the holiday can really help you out for savings," Tornatore says.
If you're looking to book that one of a kind experience, can be booked with the help of reward programs from major hotel chains.
"These are over the top experiences insider experiences at major league baseball stadiums like being in the dugout with your favorite player."
Some other good tips for traveling during the holidays are be flexible and try to travel early. Direct flights are also best so you don't risk getting stuck in another airport.
Also, try not to use travel points. This time of year, it'll take a lot more points to get those flights.
