MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

It’s not unusual to see a teacher get into the holiday spirit but there’s one teacher in Montgomery who takes it to a whole new level.

“I teach first grade at Floyd Elementary School,” said teacher Kimberly Barnes.

Barnes likes to deck the halls all month long.

“She wears a different Christmas shirt every day in the month of December,” said Floyd Elementary principal Tiffany Scissum. “I think my favorite one is a shirt she has that says Sleigh My Name, Sleigh My Name.”

“Between Thanksgiving and Christmas is kind of a hump to get over for the teachers and students,” said Barnes.  “So I just wear something every day to let them know Christmas is coming.”

From Santa hat to the socks she’s decked out from head to toe. For the kids, it’s something to look forward to every day. And the kids aren’t alone.

“My co-workers get an even bigger kick out of it. They will say ‘Oh Lord what does Barnes have on today,’”.

When the kids go home for Christmas break, Barnes is already thinking about next year, and all those after Christmas sales to load up on even more Christmas gear.
