Hawaii reacts to Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa's big win

The Crimson Tide brings home another championship trophy and the final moments of the game has everyone talking about the lefty from Hawaii, Tua Tagovailoa.

"I don't know how Coach Saban found me all the way in Hawaii from Alabama... But I thank God he found me, and we're here right now," Tagovailoa said.

His poised yet powerful style of play is what his high school coach admired most about him during his years as a quarterback at Saint Louis School in Honolulu.

His high school offensive coach, Ron Lee, said "He's always been confident of his mechanics but he's also very smart and knowledgeable about the kind of defensive coverages that he saw at that game."

Tagovailoa is no stranger to performing under pressure. He led Saint Louis to a championship title the year before committing to The Crimson Tide.

His old roommate, Eliki Tanuvasa, said "It really feels like we won the state championship all over again. It's good to see our Alumni, our brother, being good at the next level."

Tagovailoa first major win away from home has old teammates inspired and ready to follow in his footsteps.

"It inspires me that I can do big things. I just got to train hard like Tua did and I can go far like him," said current Saint Louis quarterback, Chevan Coreeiro.

President of Saint Louis School, Glen Medeiros, said "The tradition here at Saint Louis School is one that has us believe that there's nothing that we can't overcome."
