NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Free-agent acquisition Sam Bradford and 10th overall draft choice Josh Rosen combined to provide a promising outlook for the Arizona Cardinals' quarterback situation. After Bradford completed all six of his passes for 61 yards, Rosen went 10 of 16 for 107 yards, including a 13-yard touchdown to rookie Christian Kirk in a 20-15 preseason victory over New Orleans. David Johnson had a 9-yard TD run for Arizona and Saints rookie QB J.T. Barrett scrambled for a late 12-yard score.

CANTON, Ohio (AP) - Former Kansas City Chiefs safety Johnny Robinson has been selected as the Seniors Finalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame's Class of 2019. Robinson played 12 seasons for the Dallas-Kansas City franchise from 1960 to 1971, starting as a first-round pick in the American Football League's first draft

NEW ORLEANS (AP) - The Sun Belt Conference is entering an historic season for the 18-year-old league. The winners of two new geographically-aligned five-team divisions will meet for the Sun Belt's first title game. Recent Sun Belt powers Appalachian State and Arkansas State are preseason favorites in their respective divisions. Expectations are also high at Troy and Louisiana-Monroe. Sun Belt Commissioner Karl Benson says the new setup raises the stakes of conference games.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Grambling State's Broderick Fobbs welcomes his new coaching peers in the Southwestern Athletic Conference, and any new ideas they bring with them. Half the league's 10 programs have new leaders going into this season, though most of them have been around for a while as assistants.

STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP) - Mississippi State President Mark Keenum is the new chair of the College Football Playoff Board of Managers. Keenum was selected after being the Southeastern Conference representative on the board since 2015. The CFP Board of Managers oversees the administrative operations of the College Football Playoff. There are 11 members on the board, including one from each of the 10 FBS conferences and one from Notre Dame.

COSTA MESA, Calif. (AP) - Chargers rookie defensive back Derwin James has been steadily improving throughout training camp, but the next two weeks should be a better indicator of how much the first-round pick will be able to contribute this season. Los Angeles faces potent quarterbacks and passing attacks in its next two games. The Chargers host Seattle and Russell Wilson on Saturday while New Orleans will be in for two days of joint workouts next week before their game on Aug. 24.
