UPDATE: AL Rep. George Bandy died following accident in Columbus

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan confirms Alabama State Representative George Bandy died after an accident on Jan. 5 on Andrews Road.

A man in a pick-up truck made a U-turn and hit Brandy’s car. He was taken to the Medical Center and later airlifted to the Navicent Center Hospital in Macon, Georgia where he died on Jan. 16 and was pronounced dead at 8:35 a.m.

He was elected to the House in 1994 and represented House District 83, which includes parts of Lee and Russell counties. 

Rep. Bandy’s funeral was on Tuesday, Jan. 23.
