Medicaid seeks to aid evacuees

The Alabama Medicaid Agency is telling doctors, pharmacies and hospitals in Alabama that they can serve evacuees from Louisiana and Mississippi who have Medicaid coverage and get reimbursed.

Medicaid officials say they are working with Medicaid programs in Louisiana and Mississippi to coordinate coverage. The Alabama Medicaid Agency has put information on its Web site explaining how medical providers in Alabama can get reimbursed. The Web site is Medicaid officials say the reimbursement will be based on the coverage policies set by Mississippi and Louisiana.
